Period is NOT a Four-Letter Word

Last week, news spread, not loudly enough quite frankly, about a new bill Florida legislators are looking to pass banning sexual education in elementary school including teaching about menstrual cycles.

On top of that, the bill would prohibit girls to talk about their period in school.

Just the idea of this bill is appalling. This is another example of female voices being quieted and men making decisions about the female body.  Bills like this will set women’s rights back.

Unlike 5th graders who have their periods in Florida, our voices will not be silenced.
